It's a good idea to Save/Copy your license before uninstalling so that you can re-activate if you lose your licese file.

  1. Under the Extensions drop-down select SU Podium V2.x  >  License to display your V2.x license code. Copy it down so that you can find it later.
  2. Or find your email receipt from Cadalog, Inc. or from your reseller that has the license code in it with your purchase information. In SU Podium V2.6, you can copy your license from the license manager.

Write down your license, email it to yourself, or store it somewhere accessible so you can activate Podium license if you accidently remove the PodiumLicense file.


    There are several situations where you may need to uninstall SU Podium.
  1. When you are upgrading to SU Podium V2.6 and you have SU Podium V2.5 already installed for the same SketchUp. For example, you have SU Podium V2.5 for SketchUp 2019, but have upgraded to SU Podium V2.6 for SketchUp 2019, you need to uninstall SU Podium V2.5. In this case, scroll down to the Uninstall SU Podium V2.5 section.
  2. When you are installing an incremental update to replace the previous version of SU Podium V2.6. Incremental update may be needed to fix bugs or introduce new features. In this case, read below.
  3. You may have accidently installed SU Podium V2.6 without uninstalling V2.5 or you need to downgrade from V2.6 to V2.5. In this case, read the section on manually uninstalling.

Uninstall SU Podium V2.6 update automatically for an incremental V2.6 update.

Starting with SU Podium V2.6.040, there is no need to uninstall previous versions of SU Podium V2.6. The SU Podium V2.6 Mac .pkg installer will automatically remove previous versions of SU Podium V2.6. It will NOT remove the PodiumLicense file, so there is no need to deactivate your V2.6 license if you are installing an incremental update.

Go to the SU Podium Download page here and install V2.6.040 or above for the Mac

Uninstall SU Podium V2.6 manually

1. Navigate to the following folder:

Macintosh HD\Library\Application Support\SketchUp 201x\SketchUp\Plugins\

2. Delete all Podium files and folders except the PodiumLicense file - Delete the files listed below:

  • SU_Podium_V26xx.rb
  • PodiumExtras.rb
  • SU_Podium_V26 folder
  • Podium Extras folder
  • Do NOT delete the PodiumLicense file if you are installing a V2.6 update

If you have V2.6 installed, you will also see a folder called PodiumHDR. This does not need to be deleted, and should not be deleted if it contains downloaded HDR images that you want to save.

3. You have successfully uninstalled SU Podium. You can now install an incremental update without conflict.

Uninstall SU Podium V2.5 and V2.6 manually

You may have found that you installed SU Podium V2.6 without uninstalling SU Podium V2.5. This will cause a crash when you select the render button. It's best to remove both SU Podium V2.5 and V2.6 in this case. Or you may need to downgrade to just SU Podium V2.5

1. Navigate to the following folder:

Macintosh HD\Library\Application Support\SketchUp 201x\SketchUp\Plugins\

2. Delete all Podium files and folders except the PodiumLicense file - Delete the files listed below:

  • Both SU_Podium_V26xx.rb and SU Podium V25xx.rb files
  • PodiumExtras.rb
  • SU_Podium_V26 folder
  • SU_Podium_V25 folder
  • Podium Extras folder

3. You have successfully uninstalled SU Podium. You can now install SU Podium V2.6 or SU Podium V2.5 (but not both).

Note - Macintosh HD folder is often referred to as the Global directory. It will be listed as one of your devices in Finder. If it is not listed in Finder, go to Finder Preferences, Sidebar and check Hard disks under Devices. You may need to go to the General icon in Finder Preferences and make sure Macintosh HD is listed in "New Finder windows show:"

Mac OS such as Mojave or High-Sierra, often critical files and folders are hidden. To unhide and display files and folders, Hold down Cmd + Shift + . (dot) Then open MacIntosh HD-->Library --->Application Support ---> Sketchup 2019 ---> SketchUp ---> Plugins.

 SU Podium V2.6 users - when to Deactivate your license

When activating a new V2.6 installation, your license key is checked against our database for the number of current activations on that license. A V2.6 license is allowed two concurrent installations.

It is not necessary to deactivate your license if you are making an incremental update of V2.6 (in other words, you have already activated V2.6 license). Only Deactivate your V2.6 license if you want to make a third activation. Deactivate:

  1. Open the licence manager: Extensions  >  SU Podium V2.6  >  License
  2. Click the Deactivate license button. Read here if you need more info.

License deactivation is ONLY necessary if you want to install SU Podium V2.6 more than twice. SU Podium V2.5 does not need to be deactivated before uninstalling.



Automatically uninstall SUPodium V2.5 - Choose your SketchUp version:

SketchUp 2019 users. If you need to uninstall V2.5.x for SketchUp 2019, please read below.

Manual method to uninstall V2.5.8 for SU 2019 on the Mac. Go to Macintosh HD\Library\Application Support\SketchUp 2019\SketchUp\Plugins\ folder and remove this file or folder.

  1. SU_Podium_V25.rbs
  2. PodiumExtras.rbs
  3. SU_Podium_V25 folder
  4. Podium Extras folder

  1. If you need to uninstall SU Podium V2.5.x Plus from your SketchUp 2018 Mac, the east way is to use the Uninstall_SU2018_Podium_V2_5_8.pkg.
  2. Download the .zipped file named Uninstall_SU2018_Podium_V2_5_8.pkg.zip to your download folder.
  3. Then open or unzip or uncompress the file so that you have Uninstall_SU2018_Podium_V2_5_8.pkg
  4. This is a not a Apple signed program. You will see a message like this:

    Package can not be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

    If you see that, ignore this message and right click on the file and use Open with the default Mac installer.
  5. Run Uninstall_SU2018_Podium_V2_5_8.pkg. This remove all the SU Podium folders and files that are in the SketchUp 2018 plugins folder in both the Macintosh globally directory and your User director.

  2. Download the .pkg file named Uninstall_SU2017_Podium_V2_5_7.pkg to your download folder.
  3. Then run the .pkg installer. Although it acts as if it is installing something it is actually uninstall SU Podium for SU 2017
  4. This is not a signed Mac program. You might see a message like this: Package can not be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. If you see that, ignore this message and right click on the uninstall-podium-2017.app and use Open with the default Mac installer.
  5. Run Uninstall_SU2017_Podium_V2_5_7.pkg. This remove all the SU Podium folders and files that are in the SketchUp 2017 plugins folder in both the Macintosh globally directory and your User director.

  2. Download the .zipped file named uninstall-podium-2016.zip to your download folder.
  3. Then open or unzip the uninstall-podium-2016.zip so that you have uninstall-podium-2016.app

If the Mac OS such as Yosemite or El Capitan are hiding the Library folder, use the Finder menu item Go and select Go to Folder. Then enter the word library. This action will force the Mac to open the library folder. The open Application Support  Sketchup 2016   SketchUp   Plugins.

Using the uninstall-podium-2015.app to automatically remove.

  1. If you need to uninstall SU Podium V2 from your Mac, the easiest way is to use the uninstall-podium-2015.app.
  2. Download the .zipped file named uninstall-podium-2015.zip to your download folder.
  3. Then open or unzip the uninstall-podium-2015.app.zip so that you have uninstall-podium-2015.app
  4. This is a signed program but it is possible that you wil see a message from the Mac that says this: Package can not be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. If you see that, ignore this message and right click on the uninstall-podium-2015.app and use the default Mac installer.
  5. Run uninstall-podium-2015.app. This remove all the SU Podium folders and files so that you can install V2 or V2 Plus again.
