How to uninstall SU Podium for SketchUp

 Do I need to uninstall before updating SU Podium?

  • YES, uninstall first If you are updating to a new SU Podium version within the same SketchUp version. For example, if you have SU Podium V2.5 installed in SketchUp 2019, and are upgrading to SU Podium V2.6 — still in SketchUp 2019 — you do need to uninstall V2.5 before installing the new version.
  • NO, you don't need to uninstall If you are updating to a new SketchUp version, you don't need to uninstall SU Podium from the old version. For example, if you have SU Podium V2.6 installed in SketchUp 2019, and are migrating to SketchUp 2020, you don't need to uninstall SU Podium from SketchUp 2019. However, you do need to deactivate your Podium license in the old version.

Which version of SU Podium do you need to uninstall?

 SU Podium V2.5

 SU Podium V2.6.043/.044 or newer - .RBZ versions

    If you installed using Windows/ Mac SU Podium V2.6.04x .rbz from within SketchUp, using SketchUp extension manager, read and follow these instructions.

 SU Podium V2.6.04x - Windows .exe install or Mac .pkg install versions

    If you installed using Windows SU Podium V2.6.04x .exe or the Mac SU Podium V2.6.04x .pkg installers, that install from outside of SketchUp - read the link above.

Installing SU Podium V2.6 for the first time

  • You are installing SU Podium for the first time ever on a device.
  • Or you are installing SU Podium for the first time in a new SketchUp version. For example: you just updated from SketchUp 2019 to 2020, and need to install SU Podium.
  • No uninstall is required in either case.
  • Deactivate your Podium V2.6 license before updating your SketchUp version.

Updating to SU Podium V2.6.043 (or newer) from V2.6.041 or older.

Read here if you are installing an incremental V2.6.xxx update within the same SketchUp version. For example — you currently SU Podium V2.6.041 for SketchUp 2019 installed, and are updating to V2.6.043 for SketchUp 2019.

SU Podium V2.6.043 uses a different installation method than any previous SU Podium version, and also changes the default install directory. If you are updating to V2.6.043 within the same SketchUp version:

  • You must uninstall your previous version before installing V2.6.043
  • V2.6 users must deactivate their license before updating to V2.6.043.

Upgrading from SU Podium V2.5 to V2.6

You currently have SU Podium V2.5 installed and need to upgrade to V2.6 within the same SketchUp version.

  • You must uninstall SU Podium V2.5 before installing V2.6.043
  • V2.5 users need to upgrade their license in order to activate V2.6.

Installing SU Podium for an educational lab

  • You are the administrator for an educational lab, installing SU Podium on multiple machines with a lab license.
  • This guide applies to both V2.5 and V2.6
