Quick tip - This month's tip is short production timelapse demonstrating how a kitchen panorama can be created in SU Podium using only models from Podium Browser.
The six minute video with narration explains how to design your space using Podium Browser components, setup lighting and presets, and examines some best practices for creating a Panorama render and uploading it to the Pano Server.
360° Podium Panoramas can now be uploaded and embedded on a Facebook page or timeline post with only one additional step.
Watch a video explaining how to do this here, or read about it here.
Lighting tip - SU Podium provides two separate sliders to control lighting in the environment tab: intensity and exposure. In short, the intensity slider corresponds to the strength/brightness of the SketchUp sun, and the exposure slider controls the amount of indirect "ambient" light from the sky and surrounding environment.
Click here to see a set of sample iamges demonstrating how the two sliders effect the lighting and tone distribution in your image.
We're still working tirelessly to expand the Podium Browser catalog. So far this month we've added a set of complete retail/commercial building exteriors:
These new buildings work perfectly with the large selection of exterior public/commercial items we've added in the past year.
We're adding new content to Podium Browser every month! Podium Browser is still only $59.00 and includes thousands of high quality, render ready components, with additional models, materials, and light fixtures being added every week. Read more about the speed and efficiency of Podium Browser here. To see the full range of new Browser content, open the Podium Browser web page. Click on Agree, then click on Show only recent files.
The Win/Mac version of the Viso3D SketchUp export plug-in will convert your SketchUp 8, 2013 and 2014 model into a small file that can be read by the iPad 7. The Lightmap in the plug-in will also preserve the sun and shadows settings and create an ambient light for interior scenes. Read here and download the free trial. $29.95 ends soon.
