In this month's tutorial we go back to basics again, and look thru the process of applying materials to SketchUp faces. We will also look at EditInPlace as a tool to help us applying materials.
The Quick Start: Material tutorial goes through the process step-by-step of adding Free materials from Podium Browser as well as using SketchUp textures. It also reviews how to use EditInPlace as this tool can save a lot of time isolating components.
As always, if you have any problems with the use of a specific tool or technique, feel free to post your question in the SUPlugins Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials forum.
Depth of field (often abbreviated to DOF) is a technique used by photographers to emphasize a particular element of an image to add drama or draw attention to a focal point.
PIE's DOF tool allows you to simulate effects used by professional photographers. We become accustomed to seeing artfully composed and processed photographs and sometimes, if we treat Podium renders in the same way as photographs, we can almost fool viewers into thinking they are real photos. This is a large video .mp4 file. Give it a few minutes to completely download and then play it.

This brings the Podium Walker Mac version up to speed with the latest Windows build, with both versions now using the Embree intersect calculation engine for better ray-tracing efficiency. Both versions have also received better anti-aliasing amount options/controls.
