SU Podium Version 2 plug-ins and downloads
Installing the .rbz files for the free plug-ins
Should I download the .rbz file or the Zipped .rbz file? It depends on what Browser you are using.
There are several SketchUp .rbz file plug-ins on this page. Each one has a .rbz download link and a zipped. rbz download link. Which one should you download before installing from inside SketchUp?
If you use Internet Explorer or Safari as your browser, it's best to download the Zipped .rbz file. Then unpack the zipped file and you will obtain the original .rbz file.
If you are using FireFox or Chrome, download the .rbz file but make sure you context click on the download link and choose Save Link as...
Download and Installing the .rbz file directly (not the zipped .rbz versions)
Download and Installing the zipped .rbz file.
Uninstalling the plugin
Note: You do not need to download Podium Browser if you have SU Podium Version 2 or V2 Plus. It is installed with SU Podium V2/ V2 Plus. Furthermore, if you only want to use Podium Browser and not SU Podium, you can download the free trial of SU Podium V2 and continue to use Podium Browser after the Podium V2 trial has expired.
Podium Browser works with SketchUp 8, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Windows and Mac. Your IE or Safari browser needs to be up to date. Podium Browser will not work with IE or Safari versions that are more than two years old. Please read about Podium Browser here.
Installing Podium Browser - Your Options.
The web only version can be accessed at this URL- http://www.pdm-plants-textures.com/Podium_Browser/?sa=1
It is recommended that to use IE, FireFox or Chrome browser for the web only version. Safari will not download .skp files properly.
The SUPodium Section Tool creates a "physical" section of your model where the selected SketchUp section plane is located. This enables you to use SU Podium V2 Plus to render the physically sectioned model. SU Podium Section Tool does not change your original model but makes a copy of the current model in the same directory as the original .skp file. The new .skp file is named something like this - ModelName[x20130102_1234].skp using your computer's current date.
Please note - this a free plug-in for SU Podium users. It is still in beta. Support on it is limited to the Forum. It is not a feature of SU Podium V2.
Please read about how Section Tools works here.
TIFF texture image is a bitmap file format that is incompatible with the Mac version of SU Podium V2 Plus 64 bit. When a TIFF texture image (.tif or .tiff) is present in your SketchUp model, OOPR will crash during processing scenes.
We wrote a new Podium Tools Analyse, that does flag .tif or .tiff files and names the file. Please download and install it here. The installation file is an .rbz file and will create a different SU Podium V2 Plus Tools menu item. Please read how to use Analyse in Podium Tools here.
This updated SU Podium V2 Plus will create a new menu item in your Extensions or Plugins pull down menu. It will look like below. To use this updated Podium Tools, make sure you select SU Podium V2 Plus Tools from the SketchUp Extensions or Plugins menu and not from the SU Podium V2 Plus pull down menu.
Note: Windows and Mac 32 bit versions have no problems rendering TIFF texture images so there's no need to download and install the new Podium Tools if you are a Windows customer.
Please read about installing .rbz files here here.
Omni Grid is a plug-in for SU Podium V2 or for Podium Walker that allows you to create a grid of point lights or omni lights above or below a planar surface (SketchUp face). By creating a grid of omni lights Omni Grid creates a relatively even source of light over a wide space. It is best for interior rendering. A superior even source of light is LEM in SU Podium V2.
Once you have installed OmniGrid, OmniGrid will be available from the context menu in SketchUp when you select a face.
Make Fur plugin is not a Cadalog, Inc. program. However, we recommend it for use with 2½D Grass from Podium Browser. Download the RBZ file from here.
Read the 2½D Grass tutorial here.
