Podium Walker 1.2.0 Beta Windows installs

Windows 64 bit Only

    Podium Walker 1.2.0 Beta, 64 bit Windows is available.  It currently is only available for Windows 64 bit OS. This version solves the slow video output due to 2D face-me components in the mode AND includes new anti-aliasing options to decrease flickering. In versions 1.0.7 and earlier, having 2D face-me components in your SketchUp model would require Podium Walker to reload the entire SketchUp model each time the camera moved (due to the fact that the face-me component would move to face the camera). This version will dramatically improve the video output speed if you have a lot of 2D face-me components in your model.
    Further, with 1.2.0 Beta, new anti-aliasing options have been added to smooth edges so less flickering of narrow faces is visible. The higher the anti-aliasing value, the slower the rendering and output but well worth the extra time if flickering is a problem.
    Podium Walker 1.2.0 Beta is currently only available on Windows 64 bit operating systems. If you are using a Mac or on Win 32, please use 1.0.7.

Install the Windows version for SketchUp 8, 2013, 2014

    Should I download the .rbz file or the Zipped .rbz file? It depends on what Browser you are using.

    If you use Internet Explorer as your browser, it's best to download the Zipped .rbz file. Then unpack the zipped file and you will obtain the Podium Walker .rbz file.

    If you are using FireFox or Chrome, download the .rbz file but make sure you context click on the download link and choose Save Link as...

Download and Installing the .rbz Extension.

    1. Download the .rbz file and save it to your download folder.
    2. To download it's best to right click on the download link and use the option "Save Link As..."if that is available.
    3. After downloading, Open SketchUp and go to SketchUp Preferences. Pick Extensions. Then Install Extensions. SketchUp default file format for extensions is .rbz.
    4. Select PodiumWalker_1_2_0_SUXX_Win_x86.rbz or PodiumWalker_1_2_0_SUXX_Win_x64.rbz
    5. Install the Extension automatically. Once this is complete, Podium Walker will be available in the Plugins menu and as an icon tool bar.

Download and Installing the zipped .rbz file.

    Some browsers such as IE will not download .rbz files correctly. These browsers will convert the .rbz to .zip files which is not good. Therefore we have created a .zip file which contains the .rbz file.
    1. Download the zipped .rbz file and save it to your download folder.
    2. Then unzip the .zip file. You should see a PodiumWalker_1_2_0_SUXX_Win_x86 (x64).rbz file.
    3. Open SketchUp and go to SketchUp Preferences. Pick Extensions. Then Install Extensions. SketchUp default file format for extensions is .rbz. Select the PodiumWalker .rbz to install the Extension automatically.

Only install 64 bit version for Windows 64. Do not install the 64 bit version on a Windows 32 bit OS.

Special Case SketchUp 2014 All User install

SketchUp 2014 Windows 64 bit, All User install is only for situations where you have multiple accounts on one computer


Download the .exe install file

The Podium Walker 1.2.0 Windows 64 bit All User SketchUp 2014 .exe install file for situations where multiple accounts are used on the same computer. We have prepared an .exe installation file for customers that use multiple accounts on the same computer. Another situation where you will need this version is where you have a multi-byte user account name such a Japanese, Chinese, Korean languages name.

Note that you can have Japanese, Korean or Chinese Windows versions and still use a single byte user account name. It is only in a situation that your Windows user account name has Chinese, Japanese or Korean (Hangul) characters in it that you need to use this version. A better alternative to using this version is to simply create a single byte user account name.

Download this .exe and save it to your download folder on your computer. Then locate the .exe and run the installation program. It is a standard Windows installation program and unlike the .rbz file , it will install Podium Walker to your c:/program data folder.
